Holiday Break Tips for Parents
Posted on 12/18/19

As our semester comes to an end, we would like to provide families with some helpful tips for managing teenage related stress during the holiday seasons. For many students and their families, this time of year can be very overwhelming. The winter break causes changes in routine, holiday-related stressors, and potentially gives teens more time and accessibility to technology/social media.

The SMS counseling staff ran across two articles, and thought it could be a helpful tool for our families (full links are attached below). Topics in this articles include examples of specific stressors teens may find problematic, as well as very practical self-care tips to help combat these social-emotional concerns.

We deeply care about our students here at Seaman Middle School. It is very important that our students are not only academically successful, but also have strong social-emotional attributes. Wishing you all the best during the holiday season and please reach out to us if we can be of assistance.
