Team Policy

Seaman Middle School believes that school activities are a positive influence for students and the community. The expectation for all students is to be lawful in the conduct of their daily lives.

Students who voluntarily represent Seaman Middle School in the sport of Cross Country are held to a high standard of conduct. Participation in extra-curricular activities is a privilege. This privilege is available to a student for as long as the student complies with the District policies, KSHSAA policies, and coach/sponsor rules.

  • Members of our team must maintain good grades, study habits, and in-class behavior throughout the season.
  • Respect needs to be shown to coaches, teammates, race officials, and fellow competitors at all times. A negative attitude, lack of effort, or bad sportsmanship will not be tolerated.
  • Athletes need to show up to meets and practice on time, and be prepared to run-with proper clothing and shoes.
  • During meets, athletes are NOT to leave team areas unless they have been given specific permission from one of the coaches!!

Two UNEXCUSED absences from practice result in dismissal from the team. Parents need to inform coaches of absences in writing/email/telephone BEFORE the time of the event.

Please have your child picked up at the indicated times. Being late could result in dismissal from the team. Every effort needs to be made to pick up your child on time. Practice is over at 4:20 and we expect you to be there on time.

FAILURE TO FOLLOW ANY OF THESE RULES MAY RESULT IN DISCIPLINARY ACTION
