Band Concert Scheduling Changes
Due to scheduling conflicts the SMS Fall Band Concert has been moved from Oct. 10 to Oct. 17 and SMS Spring Band Concert has been moved from Feb. 21 to Feb. 6.

Tips from the School Nurse
Cold and Flu season is upon us. It is important for children to attend school, but when a child is truly sick, they need to stay home to get well and prevent spreading illness to others. Please help us keep our students and staff healthy by reviewing the following illness prevention strategies.

Homecoming Parade Friday, Oct. 5 at 2:00 pm
The parade route will begin at Garfield Park and travel north on Kansas Ave. turning east at Independence Ave.

Scholars Bowl Tryouts
Tryouts for the 2018-2019 SMS Scholars Bowl team will be held during seminar on Thursday, October 4.

Night of Wonder
Join us for a "Night of Wonder" at SMS on October 2nd at 6:30 PM in the commons. In honor of Anti-Bullying Week, SMS FCCLA will be hosting a free movie night of the film Wonder, followed by a short discussion of the film.

Back To School Sock Hop Dance at SMS
The Sock Hop is on Friday, September 21st, from 3:15 to 5:00. Wear your favorite pair of crazy sock and dress casually.

Free Seaman Schools Fall Parent Classes
The following classes will be conducted via a combination of video presentation and group participation at the Mathes Early Learning Center. A workbook is included with registration at no cost. The curriculum is Dr. Becky Bailey's Conscious Discipline.

If you are requesting attendance of a school outside of your student's residence boundary, you will need to fill out an application for transfer.

Seaman's 2018 Summer Food Service Program
USD 345's summer lunch program will be at a new location this year due to maintenance work at Logan Elementary. We will be serving lunch out of Northern Hills Elementary School.

This year, Seaman Schools introduced a new learning management system called Schoology at all grade levels. Teachers and students have been using this digital learning management tool since August to organize content, engage students and now we're ready to connect to families.
